Year 7 PGL (May / June 2020)

All our Year 7 students are invited to take part in an extra curricular trip this academic year.  Our PGL visit is exciting, challenging and based around social adventure and activities, based at the PGL Centre at Osmington Bay in Dorset. Due to the large cohort in Year 7, the trip will run from Friday 22nd May to Sunday 24th May 2020 for Bisham, Bray, Cookham and Dorney Houses, and from Friday 5th June to Sunday 7th June 2020 for Eton, Henley, Marlow and Windsor Houses.

We believe that this trip will suit those students who may benefit from learning teamwork and communication skills, in addition to being an invaluable opportunity for them to take part in exciting and challenging activities and celebrate completing their first year with us here at Furze Platt Senior School. We consider that this trip offers excellent value for money and are positive that it will prove to be enjoyable whilst providing excellent stimuli for personal development.

Osmington Bay is situated right by the sea just outside Weymouth, in the heart of Dorset’s World Heritage site, ‘The Jurassic Coast’. The Centre is set in 45 acres of grounds and is one of their biggest centres offering great outdoor facilities; high and low ropes courses, abseiling towers, a football pitch and an underground tunnel trail.  Water sports take place on the Isle of Portland, a multi-million pound facility where the sailing for the 2012 Olympics took place.

There is a fully supervised programme of evening activities including quizzes and team games.

The cost of the trip is estimated at £210 however, this may decrease depending on the interest. This price includes:

  • Full board accommodation in two to four bedded chalets, all with en-suite bathrooms
  • Meals whilst at PGL
  • Coach travel to and from school
  • Evening entertainment
  • Bedding
  • All activities
  • Insurance
  • Furze Platt PGL 2020 Hoodie
