Main School Reception

School reception staff Mrs Rosten (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Mrs Wardle (Thursday and Friday) can deal with most general day to day enquiries and are well placed to steer you in the right direction for who may be the most appropriate person to contact. 

School Opening Hours:

The school day runs from 8.45am-3.15pm Monday to Friday. This amounts to 32.5 hours in a typical week. Our switchboard is staffed from 8am to 4pm each school day and voicemail messages may be left outside of these hours.

Reporting Student Absence or Appointments

Q: What should I do if my child is off sick or has a hospital, dentist or doctor's appointment?

Medical or Safeguarding issues

If there is a medical or safeguarding issue you would like to discuss other than sickness, you can also email our Attendance Officers attendanceofficers@furzeplatt.net and Safeguarding Mailbox Safeguarding@furzeplatt.net

If your child is taken ill or is involved in an accident during the day, he/she will be cared for by the school nurse or first aid staff until we can contact a parent or guardian.

 

Pastoral Managers

If your issue is urgent (for example affecting the health and safety of a student) please email the Student Pastoral Manager for your child’s Year via student_support@furzeplatt.net for a prompt response, stating your child’s name and Year group.

It is essential for the school to have your correct address, telephone number, and any other telephone numbers where you or a relative may be quickly contacted in the event of an emergency. If a decision is taken to close the school because of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, information will be posted on the school website in the first instance. Information will also be posted on our Twitter (@furze_platt) and Facebook (@furzeplattsenior) accounts. Various radio stations will broadcast this information to students, staff and parents.
