Trips and visits

Please see below for information on trips and visits:

Trips and enrichment opportunities at Furze Platt Senior School play a vital role in supporting students’ personal development, sense of belonging and ability to thrive beyond the classroom. These experiences introduce students to the wider community, broaden horizons and help them to see the relevance of their learning in real-world contexts.

Educational visits and external provision are carefully selected to reflect students’ interests and aspirations, while also supporting their academic, social and emotional development. Through participation in trips and enrichment activities, students develop confidence, independence and resilience as they navigate new environments and work collaboratively with peers and adults outside of school.

These opportunities also strengthen teamwork, communication skills and self-belief, helping students to build positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging within the school community.

Recent examples of educational visits include the Duke of Edinburgh Award, skiing trips, university visits, Longridge Outdoor Activity Centre, careers-focused visits, theatre trips, the Year 8 residential visit to Wales, and visits to museums such as the Natural History Museum, alongside many other enriching experiences throughout the year.
