OFSTED Report 2026

Message from the Headteacher

We are delighted to share the outcome of Furze Platt Senior School’s March 2026 Ofsted inspection and celebrate what this recognition says about our school community today, and our ambition for the future.

Conducted under Ofsted’s new inspection framework, the visit focused on everyday practice and the real-world impact of school life. We are proud that inspectors recognised the many strengths of FPSS, judging the school as meeting the expected standard in all areas, with Personal Development and Wellbeing recognised as strong.

The report changes are explained by Ofsted in their guide for parents:

This video highlights some of the comments from the report, reflecting a school built on high expectations, inclusivity, ambition and care.

Inspectors described FPSS as follows:

⭐ “A welcoming and highly inclusive school”

⭐ “Pupils are ambitious to succeed”

⭐ “Teaching is highly effective”

⭐ “Pupils value the warm relationships they have with staff”

The report also recognised the broad opportunities available to students through clubs, trips, activities and community projects, alongside the strong support and guidance students receive throughout their journey.

We encourage families to read the full report and celebrate this fantastic achievement with us:

We would like to thank our staff, students, families and wider community for their continued support and contribution to school life. This outcome reflects the commitment, professionalism and pride shared across Furze Platt.

We remain ambitious for the future and committed to ensuring every student can continue to ACHIEVE.

As ever, we remain committed to securing the best possible education for all our students and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support.
