Main School Reception
School reception staff Mrs Rosten (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Mrs Wardle (Thursday and Friday) can deal with most general day to day enquiries and are well placed to steer you in the right direction for who may be the most appropriate person to contact. Reporting Student Absence
Q: What should I do if my child is off sick or has a hospital, dentist or doctor's appointment?
A: Absences should be reported via the Class Charts app as soon as you are aware your son/daughter will not be attending that day. This should be repeated each day they will be off school.
Appointments should be made after 1.45pm where possible. Students in Years 7–11 must be collected by a parent and need to sign in and out at Main Reception; if you wish your child to leave school unaccompanied, authorisation needs to be given on each occasion that you are not able to collect them in person. Please email email@example.com to inform them of any appointments that your child needs to leave school for.
Appointments should be made after 1.45pm where possible. Sixth Form students should sign in and out at Sixth Form Reception (Years 12 and 13) when leaving for/returning from appointments.
All Year Groups
If there is a medical or safeguarding issue you would like to discuss other than sickness, you can also email our Attendance Officers firstname.lastname@example.org and Safeguarding Mailbox Safeguarding@furzeplatt.net
Q: What if my child requires medication in school?
If your child is taken ill or is involved in an accident during the day, he/she will be cared for by the school nurse or first aid staff until we can contact a parent or guardian.
If your issue is urgent (for example affecting the health and safety of a student) please email the Student Pastoral Manager for your child’s Year via email@example.com for a prompt response, stating your child’s name and Year group.
