News - School Improvement Plan Progress

This is a summary of key actions since the start of the 2010 – 11 Plan in April.  More detailed reporting will take place in Governing Body sub committees.

Aim 1: To ensure outstanding attainment and progress for all students

  • Strengthened data collection processes established
  • A Raising Achievement system has been developed which builds on the best of previous practice but which more successfully identifies and intervene with younger students

Aim 2: To ensure outstanding outcomes for all stands of Every Child matters agenda (ECM strands 2 -5)

  • Improved framework for monitoring aspects of Every Child matters work developed by Senior leadership team
  • CAPS (Contribution and Participation programme) data collected

Aim 3: To develop the quality of teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum

  • New approach to target setting developed in preparation for September
  • New Homework, Marking and Assessment Policy introduced
  • New Learning Policy introduced
  • Planning on track for new learning to learn curriculum: will be in place for September

Aim 4: To further develop Maths and Computing Specialist Status and its impact in the community

  • Successfully achieved redesignation
  • Training for staff on leading edge practice in ICT
  • Specification for ICT Hub capital project developed

Aim 5:  To further strengthen Leadership and Management across the organisation

  • Improved Departmental Self Evaluation Form (SEF) being developed ready for September
  • Successful Middle Leaders’ course run in collaboration with Maidenhead federation schools
  • BlueSky software purchased and initial training for lead member of staff undertaken

Aim 6:  To further develop community links

  • Link between Furze Platt and Cranford Community College developing.  Three visits undertaken.  Plan for next year discussed.
  • Students involved in a community cohesion project with Aik Saath, Cox Green School and Holyport Manor School.
  • Extended Schools presence established on school website

Aim 7:  To ensure the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the deployment of resources

Outline plans for a Performing Arts block drawn up
