Students at Furze Platt are provided with first class support and guidance. We want our students to feel happy, safe and secure so that they can enjoy their learning.
The House system breaks the whole school into eight smaller units, each led by a Head of House that gives students a smaller community with which they can identify. Additionally, the House system provides excellent opportunities for the different year groups to mix and get to know different people. There is a strong House identity and healthy rivalry between the groups in for many house competitions.
The eight Houses were named after towns on the River Thames. They are led by a Head of House, supported by six tutors and a Sixth Form tutor. The Sixth Formers are very much part of the Houses, although do have their own tutor groups. Nevertheless, they are often to be seen in the main school tutor groups, joining in activities and providing support and their accumulated years of Furze Platt knowledge to the younger students.
