Technology is all about designing and making. At Furze Platt Senior School Technology comprises of the following subjects:

• Graphic Products
• Electronics
• Food technology
• Resistant materials.

Accommodation

The Technology block houses one Graphics room and three multi-purpose workshops for Electronics and Resistant Materials. The two Food Technology rooms are situated in the main building.

Key Stage 3

Pupils complete a module of work in Resistant Materials, Food and Graphics for approximately a term each. Pupils will develop ideas, work with a range of tools and materials, learn a variety of processes and evaluate their work in each.

Key Stage 4

Pupils can opt for a GCSE in one of the Technology subjects. Child Development is also an option at GCSE.

Key Stage 5

'A' level Design and Technology and Food Technology are offered either as 'AS' one year or 'A' 2-year courses.
